Inhotim

Inhotim is a contemporary art museum and botanical garden designed in collaboration with landscape artist Roberto Burle Marx. The 5,000 acre site contains many open-air, site-specific sculptures as well as ten art galleries, over 100 acres of gardens, and 3,000 acres of preserved native forest.

The drawings, paintings, photographs, videos, and sculptures on display are by a variety of Brazilian and international artists (including Doug Aitken, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Thomas Hirschhhorn, Yayoi Kusama, Ernesto Neto, Janet Cardiff, Haegue Yang, Paul McCarthy, Doris Salcedo, Cildo Meireless, Vik Muniz, Helio Oiticia, and Adriana Varejão). The gardens emphasize rare tropical species from the Cerrado and Mata Atlântica (Atlantic Forest).
